As our Business Development Executive, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating Sonata’s expansion. This is a remote position (must be based in Europe) where you’ll work closely with our CEO, strategising and executing growth plans. You’ll forge partnerships, close deals, and even travel to industry conferences to represent Sonata – all while carving out your path to a future senior executive role within our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive New Business: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Europe (and beyond) – from researching prospects and cold outreach to networking and referrals – to expand Sonata’s client base.
- Full Sales Cycle Ownership: Manage the entire sales pipeline from initial contact to negotiation and assisting with CEO with closing, meeting or exceeding targets for revenue growth.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with prospective eCommerce clients and strategic partners, understanding their needs and showcasing how Sonata’s payment solutions can help them.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the CEO to develop and refine our business development strategy, providing insights from the field and helping shape the direction of the company.
- Market Presence: Represent Sonata at industry events and conferences, travelling when needed to promote our brand, demo our platform, and connect with potential customers and partners.
Feedback & Improvement: Provide market and client feedback to the product and marketing teams, helping us adapt our offerings and stay ahead of industry trends.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related commercial role (mid-level), with a track record of driving growth or hitting sales targets.
- HubSpot Proficiency: Proven competence in using HubSpot CRM to manage pipelines, track leads, and generate reports – you know how to leverage a CRM to drive results.
- Language & Communication: Fluency in English (excellent written and verbal communication skills) is essential. You’re confident pitching to clients and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Startup Mindset: Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable. You thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience or knowledge in the payments, fintech, or eCommerce industry is a plus (desirable but not mandatory) – an interest in digital payments and technology is key.
- Location & Travel: Must be based in Europe and able to work remotely effectively. Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences or client meetings (within Europe and internationally) when required.
